Frequently asked questions?
-
What type of equipment do you use?We only use top-of-the-line professional DJ equipment. We Also have a backup system should something fail.
-
Will the DJ play requests? Our DJs only take requests if you allow it. If someone makes a request that fits in well with what the DJ is playing at the time and with the music you want, then the DJ will try and play it.
-
Can we request songs for the DJ to play? Most definitely, after a meeting with the client, we will send you the Song request playlist template to complete.
-
What are your payment terms? The deposit is required at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due two weeks before the event date. Payments can be made via eft to our South African bank account.
-
Will the DJ play overtime if needed?Yes, DJs can play past the contracted time at an extra fee, but we do recommend that you let us know before the event date to make sure the DJ is prepared for a possible extension. If no notice is given, we cannot confirm the DJ can play longer as they may have other commitments.
-
Do we have to take a package, or can we make a custom quote? All quotes are based on your specific needs i.e. Number of guests, what equipment is required and how many hours the event will be etc. Let us know what you have in mind, and we will help you with a customised quote.
-
When should we book a DJ?A good time frame is at least six to eight weeks before a function and at least and 3 - 6 months if it is a wedding to guarantee availability.
-
Can we meet the DJ before we confirm?Yes! We recommend meeting the DJ for an interview to discuss music playlist, equipment requirements and event procedures. It's important to understand the client’s needs and expectations. We always recommend that clients meet their DJ closer to the wedding date to confirm and finalise the plan in person.
-
What other services do you offer? We offer sound, DJ’s, ceremony audio, dance floor lighting, fog machine, smoke machine.
-
What time does the DJ & Sound company arrive prior to the event starting? The sound guys will be on-site at least 2 hours before your guests arrive to start setup unless requested to come earlier.
-
Do you have any tips or suggestions? It would be helpful to know the physical layout of the venue beforehand, so we know how and where to setup our equipment e.g. speaker positions, DJ booth position wireless mics etc. It is also good to know where and how many power points are available. By us inspecting the venue, this will make setup and preparations more effective and professional.
-
What is the procedure to book a DJ?Send an email with all your event details to us, you can do this via the “contact us” page on the website or mail directly to gareth@elev8entertainment.co.za or bookings@elev8entertainment.co.za.
